Billie-Ann Woo Elected President of Roedde House Preservation Society

April 8, 2016, Vancouver, BC: At the recent 2016 Roedde House AGM, Billie-Ann Woo was elected as President of the Roedde House Preservation Society. She takes the helm from past President Anthony Norfolk who had held the position since 2005.

Billie-Ann has been involved with the Museum since 2012, starting as a tour docent and steadily gaining experience in Board management through a number of projects, most notably Chairing the 25th Anniversary Celebrations last year. The month-long slate of celebrations included evening tours, Farmstead Day, and the Anniversary Garden Party. She brings to the Museum a strong background in Marketing, Communications and Event Management and a keen interesting in museum management, technology, and community engagement. Her speciality is in digital marketing communications strategy and engagement and she currently works full-time in marketing in the Aviation sector.

"I'm looking forward to continuing the work Anthony has done during his tenure and we have some great plans and ideas in the works for 2016. My goal for 2016 is to continue to build a foundation of community exchange at the Museum and I look forward to working with fellow community, cultural, heritage, and tourism organizations this year," said Billie-Ann.

Additionally, while Billie-Ann has been on the Board management side of Roedde House for a number of years, she regularly volunteers to deliver lively tours as a docent for the Tea & Tour program on Sunday afternoons as well as being a House representative at local community events. Some of the projects she has planned involve her personal interests of food education, music, and exploring history in collaboration with local experts.
