DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join us for Spirits of the Past: Ghostly Tour at Roedde House Museum\n\n\n\nFriday October 23Tours starting every half hour from 5:30pm until 9:00pm \n\n\n\nGet Tickets\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCelebrate the spooky season at historical Roedde House Museum with a special ghostly tour of the house with paranormal investigators and mediums! \n\n\n\nAs night falls\, Roedde House becomes a portal to the past\, offering an interactive paranormal experience. Begin with psychic tarot readings\, followed by chilling tales of the house’s haunted history. Then participate in a ghost hunt with experienced investigators. The evening culminates in a Victorian séance with a psychic medium\, summoning the spirits of former inhabitants. \n\n\n\nTours are 1 hour and 15 mins in length and group size is limited for a semi-private group experience. Tour times are staggered every half hour. \n\n\n\nAll funds go towards the preservation of Roedde House. \n\n\n\nParking: \n\n\n\nLimited street parking is available on Robson and in the West End. DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJoin us in celebrating local West End history with local author Kevin Spenst for his new book “Stanley Park Manor: a Collective History” recounting stories from this iconic hundred year old building in Vancouver’s West End Neighbourhood.\n\n\n\nStanley Park Manor: a Collective History brings together dozens of voices and hundreds of lives lived in one of the West End’s most iconic buildings. With previous tenants such as Pierre Berton\, Simma Holt\, Kiran Singh\, Abbas Akhavan\, Jennifer Spence\, Joel Sturrock\, Trish Klein (of the Be Good Tanyas) and congregations of others piling up to the present\, this almost 100-year-old Vancouver building is steeped in stories.  \n\n\n\nWith the help of previous building manager Lyn Guy\, Manor resident and author Kevin Spenst has compiled\, researched and added to accounts from actors\, artists\, journalists and hosts of others. At the Roedde House\, Lyn Guy will share some of the stories from long-time Manor resident Enid Sheppard (1915–2007)\, a woman whose Vancouver life reflected the city itself in many ways.  \n\n\n\nWe will be showing a short film about Enid Sheppard narrated by Lyn Guy as well as a small display about her life set up at the museum. Kevin Spenst will read passages from the book and explain some of the research that went into writing about Manor residents in the 1930s and 40s. A Q&A period will follow to allow for any questions about the book. Copies of “Stanley Park Manor: A Collective History” will be available for purchase and Kevin will be doing a book signing after the talk. \n\n\n\nTea & Refreshments will be served at the event. \n\n\n\nThis conversation connects everyday lives\, architecture\, and memory—echoing Roedde House’s mission to preserve and share Vancouver’s early history. DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to welcome the Lesley Branton Duo to the Roedde House Parlour! \n\n\n\nGet Tickets\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nBased in Vancouver\, this duo features Lesley Branton (vocals)\, and Jason De Couto (piano). Influenced by an array of artists and genres\, this duo is passionate about sharing their love of music. Having recently met via Vancouver’s vibrant music scene\, these musicians have melded their talents\, and together have produced a unique and uplifting sound. Lesley is a versatile vocalist\, who grew up listening to artists including Carole King\, James Taylor\, Bonnie Raitt and Joni Mitchell. Also inspired by the Peggy Lee records her parents would play\, and the timeless voice of Ella Fitzgerald\, Les set out to follow her dream of becoming a professional singer. Jason de Couto is one of the most in-demand keyboardists in town\, performing with such acts as Meridian\, Rain City 6\, Side One\, and the Steely Dan tribute band Steelin’ In the Years.
