SUMMARY:Jazz in the Parlour: Daniel Howard Trio
DESCRIPTION:Experience an intimate evening of live jazz in Roedde House’s historical Victorian parlour! \n\n\n\nWe are pleased to welcome Dan Howard\, Max Huberdeau\, and Ardeshir Pourkeramati! The group will be performing some of their favourite songs from the great American composers of the 20th century in an intimate drum-less setting\, showcasing their chemistry as a trio and mutual love for the music. \n\n\n\nAbout the artists: \n\n\n\nDan Howard: As a bassist\, arranger\, and composer\, Dan is one of Vancouver’s up and coming voices at the bass\, and has shared the stage with Vancouver greats such as Mimosa\, Victor Noriega\, Triston Paxton\, John Lee\, and Chris Davis. Dan has a broad range of influences ranging from the great piano trios of the 90s to Radiohead and Nirvana. \n\n\n\nMax Huberdeau: Is a Vancouver based musician whose playing takes inspiration from swinging\, lyrical\, and progressive artists from within and without the jazz tradition. Born and raised in Calgary\, Max moved to Vancouver in 2013 to attend Capilano University to study music as a drummer\, and along the way developed a passion for the piano. He aims to create music with a sense of drive\, wit\, beauty\, and mystery. \n\n\n\nArdeshir Pourkeramati: As a saxophonist and composer\, Ardeshir blends his deep roots in the jazz tradition with a fresh perspective\, crafting a dynamic and expressive sound. Currently based in Vancouver\, he has worked across different jazz idioms\, from hard bop to jazz fusion. Having completed a doctorate in jazz studies at USC’s Thornton School of Music\, he has collaborated with notable Canadian jazz musicians\, including Brad Turner\, Cory Weeds\, and Steve Kaldestad. Ardeshir currently leads his jazz quintet and his fusion group\, “ArdyTronics”. Regardless of musical genre\, his sound and adventurous spirit make him a compelling presence in the present jazz scene. \n\n\n\nThe concert will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.\, with a 30-minute intermission during which tea and cookies will be available. \n\n\n\n$23 for Seniors/RHM Members/Students \n\n\n\n$25 for General Admission \n\n\n\n\n\nGet Tickets Here!
