Jazz Music at Roedde House Museum

jazzconcert porch view

In keeping with the Roedde family's love of music, Roedde House Museum presents monthly jazz concerts under Artistic Director Dan Reynolds. Dan has his own personal connection to Roedde House, as the grandson of one of the founding members of the Roedde House Preservation Society and author of "More Than a House", Janet Bingham. The series showcases local duos and trios for evening concerts in our historic 1893 parlour, a room with wonderful accoustics and a history of music making, as the Roedde family often hosted concerts in the same room on their grand piano.

The Roedde House Museum 2021 Jazz Concert Series is made possible thanks to a Metro Vancouver Cultural Grant  MV DefaultLockup RGB 0517  , the McGrane Pearson Endowment Fund through Vancouver Foundation, and donations from community members.

CANCELLED: Jazz in the Parlour Concert: November 26th 2021: Rene Worst & Jennifer Scott

November 22nd 2021 Update: Jennifer Scott and Rene Worst have had to regrettably cancel their jazz concert performance on November 26th due to unforeseen circumstances.  All tickets purchased for this event will be refunded. We apologize for any inconvenience to ticket holders and appreciate your understanding. We plan to have Jennifer and Rene rescheduled for another concert date in the new year, so stay tuned!

Our Jazz Series continues indoors in the museum's parlour with a performance by Rene Worst and Jennifer Scott. Jennifer Scott is a far-reaching talent who "brings a striking emotional intelligence to everything she sings, no matter the context. As much a song stylist as an improviser, she puts her stamp on material through her supple sense of swing and deft, slippering phrasing" (Seattle Times). Bassist, Rene Worst, has worked with renowned artists such as David Bowie, Freddie Hubbard, and Chet Baker, creatively harnessing jazz, folk, rock, and fusion for five decades. The chemistry of these two absolutely crackles as they draw from original compositions and interpret the American Songbook, pop, and global folk music.

*There are two 45min time slots available as seats will be limited for each performance.
*Masks and proof of vaccination are required to enter the museum.

Time slots: 7:00-7:45pm OR 8:15-9:00pm
